You usually find Matt Farah on the back roads of California, driving some million-horsepower muscle car in an exuberant manner. This time, though, he’s gone all the way to Portugal to attend the press launch of the new Porsche 718 Boxster S.

Matt is suffering through fantastic weather, a luxury hotel, amazing food, and great scenery, all to help you make a decision whether or not to buy the Porsche 718 Boxster S. Poor guy, uh?

The biggest highlight of the 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster S is a brand-new four-cylinder flat engine with turbocharging. This motor makes 300 hp in the regular version and 350 hp in the S variant, along with 420 Newton metres of torque. When paired with the PDL dual clutch transmission, that engine propels the Boxster from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 285 km/h. Meanwhile, the average fuel consumption figure stands at 7.3 l/100 km.
