Rick Hendrick Takes Delivery of the First Acura NSX

2017 Acura NSX VIN 001 Hendrick 600x395 at Rick Hendrick Takes Delivery of the First Acura NSX

As you may remember, a while ago at the Barrett-Jackson charity auction in January, NASCAR mogul Rick Hendrick purchased the first production unit of the 2017 Acura NSX for a cool $1.2 million. The time has now come for Mr Hendrick to collect his prize for being a good human being.

The 2017 Acura NSX VIN001 delivered to Rick is a nicely specced one finished in Valencia Red Pearl and featuring exclusive interwoven wheels, carbon ceramic brake rotors, leather and Alcantara interior trim and carbon fiber upgrades including the engine cover, roof, and rear decklid spoiler. After all, the man did pay like ten times what the car is actually worth, so it was only fitting they treated him to some special options.

As a reminder, all proceeds from the sale of the first-ever Acura NSX production model went to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.

“Taking delivery of this first new Acura supercar and knowing the proceeds will benefit two remarkable organizations for children makes this a very special moment for me and everyone on our team,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group. “It’s especially rewarding to see this incredible supercar coming to life in the United States, which is a real testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and manufacturing here.”
