Even though they didn’t have a brand-new model to celebrate at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Lamborghini still put on a good show for their fans using the 50th anniversary of the Miura as an excuse. 2016 FoS turned out to be one of Lambo’s best ever.
Seeing as this year’s event for Lamborghini was basically a giant birthday party for the Miura, they brought along a ver special version of that car, a green example with chassis #4846 restored by Lamborghini’s specialist restoration center, PoloStorico. This is the original Miura SV shown at the 1971 Geneva motor show and it was awarded ‘overall winner’ in the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016, making the 50th anniversary celebrations even sweeter.
But as if that wasn’t enough, Lamborghini also introduced at the event a special edition of the Aventador built as an homage to the super car daddy, the Miura. It is simply called the Aventador Miura Homage and it is limited to 50 units worldwide. This exclusive model was accompanied at Goowood by the Huracan Super Trofeo, Huracan Spyder and the special edition Huracan Avio.
“We are very proud that the first full restoration by Lamborghini PoloStorico collects this award from the Cartier Style et Luxe concours event,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “Goodwood Festival of Speed is an event that celebrates the passion that so many have for all things automotive, both past and present, and Lamborghini is proud to be a part of this.”
