Before we proceed let us clarify that while we realize Top Gear bashing is fashionable these days, we do not play that game here for the hell of it. So when we say this video of Jeremy Clarkson fiddling with a DHL box is more popular than the new TG, that is based on the number of views and likes this clip’s got on Youtube compared to all of Top Gear’s clip.
This video was shot by James May at the Grand Tour’s new offices in London where the former Top Gear trio are busy making their new Amazon show… when they are not fooling around like this. So let’s see how long it takes Clarkson to assemble a DHL box with Richard Hammond as your commentator:
The Grand Tour, as I’m sure you know, will hit the airwaves some time in autumn with a whole new and somewhat experimental format. The boys will travel to a new location for each episode where they erect a tent which double as a studio housing the live audience. They are already off to a flying start thanks to low ratings of the new TG (Top Gear) which has made everybody more eager than before for GT (Grant Tour). It’s not that Evans and Co. are particularly rubbish, but they’re just not in the same league as Jezza, Hamster and Slow.
But what makes us not like the new Top Gear, above all else, is their political correctness, lack of controversy, and lack of conflict and danger. Who gives a crap how fast the new McLaren is? We want entertainment, not facts and figures shouted at us by a ginger man and his dim-witted American friend.
