You know, for a high-end luxury SUV, which is what Jaguar F-Pace is, it does a lot of silly things. One time they got the car do the loop-the-loop, and now at the Goodwood Festival of Speed it takes to the hill on two wheels. Is this a luxury SUV or an attention-starved child?
Not that we’re not impressed by the ability of Jaguar F-Pace to cover long distances on just two wheels, which could be a testimony to its robustness and built quality. But that’s the stuff cars like Nissan Juke use to impress potential buyers. When a sophisticated looking car like the F-Pace does that, well, it’s like George Clooney doing the chicken dance to promote one of his movies. It’ll probably work, but it’s just not right.
Piloting the F-Pace across the Goodwood estate on two wheels was stunt driver Terry Grant and he had with him freestyle motorbike stunt rider Lee Bowers.
“When Jaguar gave me the opportunity to reunite with the F-PACE used to break the world’s largest loop record, I couldn’t say no. Its light, stiff aluminium body and precise controls make it the perfect wheelie vehicle, and it was great to have Lee Bowers along for company – even if he did climb out halfway through our run!” said Grant.
