You must have a lot of confidence in your product to secure for it a publicity gig as elaborate as an appearance during the Tour de France grand finale. But that’s the case with new Skoda Kodiaq SUV, which is set to lead the racers through Champs-Elysées to the finishing line while wearing a special camo.
The Czech car maker is not yet ready to show us the Skoda Kodiaq in its final production form, but judging by the renderings we have seen of this car, the stunt is probably justified. Not that it was too hard for Skoda to score the opportunity, as they are already an official partner of Tour de France and provide 250 organisational and support vehicles as well as more than 50 team cars.
The car maker has also put a lot of effort into coming up with the special disguise Skoda Kodiaq will be wearing at the event. The ed, grey and black camo has taken four specialists 120 hours to apply, and it consists of more than 21 m2 of foil and features around 14.000 facets hinting at the “contours and character of the Skoda SUV.” The official premiere of the mid-size SUV is scheduled for September 1 in Berlin.
