You know how kids sometimes put on their parents’ clothes and step in their shoes and make pretend they’re grown ups? Well, that’s the case with this Porsche Cayman GT4. This little boy wants to be a 911 R and play in the big leagues.

Now, we don’t approve of cars styled by their owners to look like better, more expensive models, because it’s just such an uncool thing to do and tells everyone that your life hasn’t worked out as well as you’d hoped. But we have to say we quite like the look of this Porsche Cayman GT4 in 911 R livery. Maybe that’s because the GT4 is already a damn good track-focused sports car, so the R livery doesn’t look all that pretentious on it.

Seeing this car is a good excuse to have a little comparison between the Porsche Cayman GT4 and the 911 R. After all, the GT4 is kind of like a low-fat, discount version of the R. Whereas the 911 R boasts a 500 hp 4.0 liter flat-six engine, the GT4 packs a 3.8-litre flat-six engine with 385 hp, which it borrows from the old Carrera S. Both cars get a 6-speed sports transmission, but in terms of performance the R is like a Delta Force operator and the GT4 a Private First Class in the 10th Mountain!
