With all those Aston Martin DB11 Volante renderings floating around the web, the British car maker decided to give us a taste of the topless beauty, even though the car is not due until the spring of 2018. So here’s the DB11 Volante, at least in testing prototype guise.
It makes complete sense for Aston to show us the DB11 Volante because it’s not like the car is going to be a whole lot different than the hardtop version. In fact, safe the roof which is going to be a folding soft top on the Aston Martin DB11 Volante, the two cars are going to be exactly the same. All right, so the roadster will be slightly heavier because they have to compensate for the lack of roof by adding more strengthening beams to the chassis and pillars, but on the whole it is not going to be like apples and oranges… more like red apples and green apples.
That said, a lot of people have already started bashing Aston for the looks of the DB11 Volante. Some are saying the back-end of the car looks like a Camaro, and frankly they do have a point. But let’s wait and see the thing in full glory before we judge it. We’ve been saying that the DB11 has a somewhat peculiar look since the day it was unveiled, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad looking car. At the end of the day it’s a GT Aston. I mean, come on. You cannot not like that!
