As of the regular white Porsche 911 R wasn’t exclusive enough, somebody has ordered one in a special edition color known to hard-core Porsche enthusiasts as Speed Gelb (Speed Yellow). What’s more, the Gelb R was spotted in Dusseldorf in company of a silver 911 R, making the whole affair even more of an extraordinary occasion.
Seeing the Speed Yellow Porsche 911 R next to a silver one puts in perspective how unique that color is. It also puts in perspective how ugly it is. While that silver R looks all cool and classy (if we gloss over the green stripes), the Speed Gelb looks it’s been commissioned by Munich Airport taxi fleet. It’s not a pretty paint job, but it has tons of tradition behind it, and as we know people tend to follow tradition somewhat blindly.
