It is common practice nowadays for independent designers to put out renderings of various different variants of the new models released by big time car makers. And so a short time after the unveiling of the new Mercedes E-Class Coupe we get a nice little CGI of its high-performance model, the Mercedes-AMG E63 Coupe.
It is not yet certain that Mercedes-Benz would indeed make a Mercedes-AMG E63 Coupe based on the 2018 model, although with the insane variety they have in their lineup these days there is a good chance they won’t shy away from it. In any case, it doesn’t take a genius to guess what that car would look like seeing as we’ve already got the AMG version of the E-Class sedan.
And that’s the disappointing part of this whole thing. We get that the E63 sedan should look unassuming and even a little boring, but the coupe can be a bit more exciting and provocative surely. After all, we’re talking here about a two-door, 600+ something super coupe. It’d be a shame if it looked pretty much like the taxis you see at Geneva airport. It needs to look more aggressive, and for Christ’s sake, somebody changes those sad, miserable looking headlights.
