Volkswagen has just revealed the star of their lineup for the 2017 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS) and it’s an elongated version of the Tiguan crossover. It’s called the VW Tiguan Allspace and it can accommodate up to seven people inside thanks to an stretched wheelbase.
Now, there is no doubt that that’s a godawful name for a car, but at least the car will be called VW Tiguan Allspace only in Europe. That’s the German way with words at work there. In America and China the car is just called Tiguan with no plus or LWB or anything attached to it. That’s curious, because the Allspace has an 11 centimeter longer wheelbase than the regular models, not to mention a more substantial list of features and equipment.
The seven-seater VW Tiguan Allspace will hit the market in the summer of 2017.
