The long-rumored special edition Ferrari F12 for the American market has finally been unveiled in form of the Ferrari F60America. It is an open-top version of the F12, and is the case with the open-top versions of all V12 Ferrari GT cars, it’s a limited edition.
Ferrari F60America is limited to only 10 units, even though it is designed to mark the 60th anniversary of the company in America, and therefore should have been limited to 60. Ferrari says they are making only 10 because the car the F60America is inspired by, the 1967 275 GTS4 NART Spider, was also limited to 10 units.
Mechanically, Ferrari F60America is identical to the F12 Berlinetta on which it is based. But styling-wise, it boasts a bespoke body and a heavily revised interior.
On the outside, the biggest highlights of the F60 include two leather-trimmed roll-hoops are backed by carbon-fibre-trimmed flying buttresses, revised bumpers and headlights, unique wheel design, a bespoke stripe, and a light fabric top usable at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Inside, the car features an unusual two-tone design, with the driver’s side finished in red and the passenger’s side entirely in black. It also features racing seats with stylised American flag motif and carbon fiber trim pieces.
Ferrari F60America will be shown to the American public during an anniversary celebration gala dinner at Beverly Hills City Hall tomorrow. Don’t go there hoping to buy one though, because all 10 examples are already spoken for.
