In the four days since it was revealed, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso has created a lot of noise because of its unique looks and character, as well as its complicated technical features. The car has also stimulated the imagination of a great many independent designers.

In this rendering designer X-Tomi has tried to imagine an even more practical version of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso by adding two extra doors to the vehicle. In other words, he has turned the Lusso from a Shooting Brake into a full on five-door hatchback. Granted, it’s a giant hatchback, but a hatchback nonetheless.

If you can get over names and labels, the five-door Ferrari GTC4 Lusso actually make a lot of sense. The car is a four-seater anyway, so why not having the convenience of rear doors? It can’t be for concerns over the looks, because as you can clearly see here the end result is quite spectacular.

The reason the Lusso is not a five-door when it comes out of the factory is because Ferrari is reluctant to produce anything with more than two doors in any body style. It’s apparently an affront to their traditional values. The four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel steering are okay. But rear doors? Fuggedaboutit!
