After years and years of teasing people with their first supercar, it seems that finally Lexus and the parent company Toyota have made up their mind and are going to put it into production. They say that the huge delay in this project was due to the fact that at 315km/h it was too slow to take on the rivals, so they corrected this and the LF-A is now capable of 350 km/h, It’s overkill really!

The LF-A is so fast because it’s got a brilliant engine. This being Lexus you might expect that even in their supercar they gonna use their hybrid stuffs, but no! They’ve picked a proper engine for this car, a 4.8 liter V10 which pumps up 550 hp and a fabulous noise! And Lexus have put all the experiences they acquired by racing at the Nururgring 24 hours race twice into good use to make sure the LF-A handles like a proper supercar too. It sounds like it’s a  serious contender, well at least on paper!

The Lexus LF-A will be premiered at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show and the production will start from early 2010. In the first phase a limited run of 500 units will be made with special editions to follow later on. As for pricing expect it to start around $200,000.
