A while back Aston Martin acquired a very nice spot behind the window of Harrods, the world’s most famous luxury store, to showcase the new Cygnet city car. Now Lexus proudly copies Aston and gets a four-window display at Harrods to show the new CT 200h hybrid along with the RX 450h.

Now, Aston Martin at Harrods was fine, becasue Aston is a luxury badge and everyone loves it and the Cygnet too is more of a fashion accessory than a car, so they went well together. But Lexus seems a bit out of place there! Lexus is luxurious for sure, but all their cars  – save the LF-A – including the CT 200h look like a refrigerator with wheels! They are by no mean cool enough to be presented at Harrods. But you know, when money is involved things get rather complicated!

It is not a case of look-but-don’t-touch:  the presentation has been designed so that people can access the new full hybrid luxury hatchback, plus its sister RX 450h SUV model that is also on show. Another of the window units along Harrods’ Brompton Road frontage is devoted the latest Mark Levinson audio technology, as featured in a number of Lexus models. A Lexus Lounge completes the display, designed by Lexus with Harrods’ own creative team.
