peugeot EX at Peugeot EX1 Sets Electric Lap Record At Nurburgring

Peugeot’s little electric EX1 keeps breaking records, but the French are still reluctant to make it. In its latest stunt, the EX1 broke the lap record around Nurburgring Nordschleife for electric cars.

The car lapped the 20.832 kilometres race track setting a lap time of 9:01.338 seconds at an average speed of 138.324 km/h, both records for EVs. The previous recorded lap time for an electric vehicle was 9:51.45 seconds clocked in 2010. That’s a staggering difference of 50 seconds!

The EX1 is a very brilliant car, the only EV you want to actually buy because it’s built for fun. But it’s too fancy to the real world so we will never see it coming, at least not in this form, or with this speed.
