No, we’re still pretty much a car site! The reason we are featuring a music video here is because Chrysler has made it.

This song is actually Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself,’ performed by ‘Selected of God’ choir, produced by Chrysler Brand and Eight Mile Style LLC, a Detroit-based publisher of Eminem compositions. This is part of the “Imported from Detroit” campaign, and Eight Mile Style will donate all publishing proceeds from the music download to three local Detroit charities – Abayomi Community Development Corporation, The Yuinon and the Robert S. Shumake Foundation.

You can download the full length version of the song from iTunes. As a die hard Eminem fan, I found it to be very cool actually! Here’s the music video:

In other car-related Eminem news, his company Eight Mile Style has settled the case with Audi regarding the German car maker’s illegal use of ‘Lose yourself’ song in a commercial. They had actually ripped off Chrysler’s ‘Born of Fire’ ad. Eight Mile accepted Audi’s offer to join the effort to support the revitalization of Detroit by contributing to selected social projects, and dropped the case. That shows they – Eminem – weren’t after money, and that they care about their heritage and legacy.

In commenting on the Settlement Agreement, a spokesperson for Audi said, “Audi has tremendous respect for Eminem and his works, and likewise for the “Imported From Detroit” campaign which was created by Chrysler, and certainly Audi would never wish to insult or harm those parties or their fans and customers.
