Renault is extending the range of Clio Gordini by offering the treatment with two 1.6 VVT 128 and 1.5 dCi 106 engines as well.

So you can now get a Clio that is desperately slow, but looks fast thanks to the Gordini visual features! That’s marvelous. Renault says it delivers the looks of the 200hp model but with fuel economy that rivals diesels. The 128 version does 0-62 mph in 9.3 seconds and returns 42 mpg. It is priced at £14,000.

The 1.5 dCi 106 which costs £14,950 can only reach a top speed of 119mph, which is slow by anyone’s standards, but it returns 62.8 mpg on the combined cycle. That’s great economy, but it barley moves! I would gladly trade a couple of mpg for more mph.

Both car benefit from the  full Gordini outfit, which includes 16” Turini alloy wheels, trademark twin white Gordini racing stripes, body coloured spoiler, Gordini badging and interior touches. High specification offers climate control, front fog lights and hands-free keycard.
