Crewe’s Missile: Worlds Fastest Roller Crewe Missile

It’s so uncharacteristic of Rolls Royce, but a nice addition to the Crewe-based company’s heritage.

This Crewe-build 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow has been recognized as the world’s fastest Roller at Santa Pod’s Flame and Thunder event.

This gentleman’s express is powered by a 588cu Chevrolet V8 and it has only one job: to be insanely fast in straight line. And indeed it is, as it does a quarter mile in 7.94 second at 175 mph. The car is fitted with bespoke Chrome-Moly twin tube chassis, suspension and braking system.

The car has been prepared by WG Racing and uses a cutting-edge selection of the latest drag tricks and lightening methods to turn it into a veritable supercar slayer, taking well over two seconds off the time taken by the Bugatti Super Sport to cover the same distance.

The Crewe’s Missile might be the world’s coolest Rolls Royce as well. We certainly think so!
