Renault thinks they took car’s infotainment systems to the next level with the R-Link, a tablet for cars with upgradable content.

We’re still wondering why you would want your Twitter and Facebook with you inside the car (isn’t enough that you got it on your smartphone?) but this system with its integrated apps will make easier to stay connected, while taking care of your entertainment with different music services and your travel with navigation system.

This being a tablet, you can customize your homepage and download apps on it. For example it has an app to measure the car’s performance at any given moment rate your driving style based on how green it is!

It comes with 50 pre-installed apps but it’s open to developers to come up with more. They will be downloadable directly to the tablet inside the car or via the My Renault account.

This system will also offer advance features like voice control, but it will remain affordable for most people. It will be first offered with Renault ZOE and the new Clio.
