Renault revealed a facelifted version of the Megane for 2012 and, as ever, it is daring and unusual, but cool.

The 2012 Renault Megane comes with a revised front-end featuring new and distinctive LED lights and gloss black finish with chrome highlights for the bumper, plus a new range of wheels with updated designs.

There are two new colors available as well, Azzurro Blue and Arctic White.

The interior upgrades have been more thorough, and include (depending on the market) two-tone leather pack, visible red upholstery stitching and a sports steering wheel incorporating thumb rests, plus Renault Sport-badged door sill guards and dashboard trim strip.

The 2012 Megane becomes the most fuel efficient car in its class, thanks to the introduction of three new Stop & Start engines: dCi 110, dCi 130 and the brand new TCe 115. The number refers to the horsepower each engine makes, and as for the fuel economy, the first one does an incredible 80.7 mpg, the second 70.6 mpg, and the third one a respectable 53.3 mpg.

For the more performance-minded drivers, Renault still offers the Megane Renaultsport 265, with 265hp and up to 360Nm of torque for an amazing performance. This one comes with special visual features and interior goodies, including 18-inch alloy wheels (satin finish or matt black) as well as the 19-inch wheels, ‘R.S.’ logo, Renaultsport Red Design Pack which comprising red striping for the front blade, side sills and diffuser, visible red stitching for the steering wheel, dashboard trim, gearlever knob and surround.

The new car is also equipped with some highly advanced features such as the Visio System which comprises a camera fixed to the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. It improves night-time vision and helps maintain driver vigilance thanks to two functions which it is the first system of its type to feature.

Other notable features include Lane departure warning, Hill Start Assist function, Motorway Mode indicators, reversing camera and quality sendors.
