Chrysler released the first pictures of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee, and there is no getting away from the fact that it looks pretty weird. Maybe it’s a desperate attempt to grab some attention, but whichever way you cut it, it is not a good look.

The manufacturer tells us the new Cherokee come with even more best-in-class capability, exemplary on-road driving dynamics, and 45 percent better fuel economy than the outgoing mid-size SUV, but the decline to comment on the styling. Maybe if people hear their reasons for coming up with such a thing they understand. I mean, this car makes the Nissan Juke look good. It is that bad!

To see the new Jeep Cherokee in the flesh you have to visit the New York International Auto Show in March. Later in the year the car will be produced at the firm’s Toledo Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio, and will launch in the third quarter of 2013.

Specs and details are yet to be revealed, but word is the Cherokee will get a new version of Chrysler’s Pentastar V6.
