The Sport is the most desirable version of the lovely Swift hatchback. But so far it was only available as a three-door car, which drove a lot of customers away because they needed more practicality. That problem is now solved with the launch of the new five-door model.

The five-door Sport is priced at £14,249, which is 500 quid more than the three-door, but then it gives you all the good things of the Swift Sport plus the practicality of a five-door hatchback.

You get a zippy Euro 5 1.6 litre VVT engine with 136PS and 160 Nm of torque. Performance is good – that is all you need to know about it! – while the economy is better. It does 44.1mpg on the Combined EC Cycle with CO₂ emissions of 147g/km. A six-speed manual transmission is standard.

The Sport has a bespoke exhaust system with twin tailpipes, one on each side of the rear diffuser. The five door also comes with new colors including the Boost Blue metallic showcased here, LED type high mounted brake lamp and driver’s window ‘auto up’.

As for the standard kit, you get auto air conditioning, fog lamps, push button start, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, HID Projector headlamps with headlamp wash and rear privacy glass.
