Jay Leno’s Garage welcomes a special guest this week. It’s the comedian and movie star Tim Allen, who brings his meticulously restomoded 1968 Camaro 427 COPO to the garage for an in-depth look and a short drive. The COPO badge on this Camaro reflects the fact that it is a specially-commissioned model featuring the 427 engine.

Apart from the fact that Jay receives Tim rather coldly, this is probably one of the best celebrity cameos we’ve ever seen on JLG – well, car-wise, at least. Tim Allen’s Camaro’s is a fine example of tasteful restoration with a personal touch.

Amongst the best features of Tim Allen’s Camaro, we can mention the superb build quality and the structural work they’ve done to cure the natural chassis flex all early Camaros were burdened with. The car also looks absolutely superb, what with the understated, elegant touches like just the right amount of chrome, perfectly-sized spoilers and splitters, very nice wheels, and a magnificent color, not to mention the great interior.
