You are all probably familiar with the Eagle Speedster, the car Jeremy Clarkson fell in love with on Top Gear; the one Simon Cowell described as the most beautiful car in the world. But that is not the only model Eagle makes. They have another Jaguar E-Type-based creation that is a more serious driver’s car and costs considerably more as well. It’s called the Eagle Low Drag GT.

Eagle has a profound love of Jaguar E-Type. What they do is take an original E-Type that is deemed unsalvageable, and use it as the base for their bespoke cars. They fit it with modern underpinnings, a powerful engine, and an exquisite body. And the whole thing is made by hand.

Eagle Low Drag GT is a particularly interesting car owing to the fact that it is pitched as the best driver’s E-Type. It looks old, and that’s the best thing about it, but it drives like a modern sports car. You get a 4.7-litre straight-six producing 345bhp, AP Racing brakes, Ohlins shocks and lightweight magnesium wheels.

That is a pretty unbeatable combination, but not enough to justify the staggering £700,000 price tag. The price tag is justified the 7000 man-hours they put into building it.
