It is usually impossible for the members of the public to ever get an in-depth look at a project car, let alone being given a detailed tour by one of the people involved in making it. But thanks to Harry Metcalfe, a senior JLR consultant and former motoring journalist, that has become a possibility about the Jaguar Project 7 F-Type.

Jaguar Project 7 will of course soon go on sale in limited numbers (250 units), but what Harry has managed to bring out of the lab for a few days is the first prototype. These are always a little bit more special.

So without any further ado let’s watch and learn as Mr. Metcalfe schools us on how to make a boutique version of a production car. Fascinating stuff:

Jaguar Project 7 Highlights:

  • 5.0 Litre V8 575PS Supercharged Engine, Jaguar’s most powerful ever
  • Stunning historic racing D-Type style with exclusive classic rear Aero Haunch, delivering authentic aero performance
  • Aggressive, racing-inspired front bumper with splitter, new side grille mesh, centre grille & surround
  • Lightweight all-aluminium body
  • Carbon ceramic brakes
  • Unique race-inspired F-TYPE seat
  • Bespoke manual ‘bimini’ hood
  • Unique ‘Project 7’ badging
