The new Infiniti Q80 Inspiration was fully unveiled earlier today, hours ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show. It is Infiniti’s first-ever take on the luxury saloon segment and they have high hopes for it, as it “at future Infiniti design language and smart powertrain technology.”
Infiniti Q80 Inspiration has a rather complex four-door fastback exterior, and a simplistic and elegant interior. The car is fairly bulky, five meters long and over 2 meters wide, and features all the signature design features Infiniti holds so dear such as the prominent front grille and seriously curvy hips.
The Q80 is also a meeting point for the latest technology features the car maker has to offer. It comes with an HUD, for example, for display of external information via a smartphone connected to the vehicle’s telematics system.
For all the geeky features though, Infiniti Q80 Inspiration has a rather lovely interior which boasts quilted leather seats and exquisite Alcantara, leather and metal finishes, plus a sculptural panoramic glass roof.
As for the technical details, the Inspiration is powered by an inspiring hybrid system consisting of a twin turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 and an electric motor, developing a combined output of 550 horsepower. Despite the huge power output, fuel consumption remains very reasonable at 5.5 liter /100 km or 43 mpg with CO2 emissions of about 129g/km.
Infiniti Q80 Inspiration is a production-intent concept. but even if it doesn’t make it to the assembly line itself, rest assured it will spawn a whole range of new model over the next few years.
