The new Ford Focus ST made its motor show debut in Paris boasting two new engines and a host of advanced technologies to boot. The hot hatch now comes with both diesel and petrol engine options and is said to be the most driver-focused version of the car yet.

The petrol-powered Ford Focus ST features a 2.0-litre EcoBoost updated in the new model to make 250 horsepower and deliver up to 6 percent better efficiency than before. Important figures about this model are as follows: 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds,; fuel efficiency of 41.5mpg; and 159g/km CO2.

The diesel version of the Focus ST gets a 2.0-litre TDCi unit. This one is for the more eco-minded driver who doesn’t want to give up completely on driving fun. It delivers 185 horsepower; 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds; 67.3mpg; and 110g/km CO2.

Ford Focus ST has always been praised by hot hatch lovers for its brilliant chassis and suspension setup tuned for sweet handling. Ford says the new model enhances that special Focus feel we know and love in the new model. The Electronic Power Assisted Steering and electronic vehicle control systems are calibrated in the 2015 ST, and it comes with the industry-first Enhanced Transitional Stability (ETS) system as part of the vehicle’s advanced Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The engineers have topped that off with an Electronic Torque Vectoring system. All that means the new Focus delivers precise handling and optimum road holding. But if you are in the mood to play, you can turn off all the electronics altogether.
