Yes, it didn’t take very long for the Porsche 918 Spyder to be treated to a gold wrap, and as you’d expect, it’s an Arab car. The first golden Porsche 918 has been wrapped in Saudi Arabia, and it doesn’t look half bad.

The golden Porsche 918 looks impressive for sure, and it attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. But it’s not what you call beautiful. No excessively bright color looks nice on a serious and aggressive super car like the 918, except for this cool orange we saw before.

The futuristic shape of the 918 and all those unique feature like roof-mounted exhaust pipes and LED lights are not the kind of features that lend themselves easily to such a treatment. Gold usually works best on cars with boxy, coach-like design like Rolls-Royce or Bentley. It really doesn’t suit the Spyder hyper car.

Being a resident of the Saudi Kingdom, the owner of this 918 was rightfully afraid his white car may look obscure at a party, or worse, it might be the same color as his neighbor’s 918. By wrapping it in gold he can now be sure his Porsche will stand out even in the most ostentatious company.
