Mitsuoka Orochi is one of Japan’s weirdest and most enduring super cars. Well, it looks like a super car anyway, but underneath it is barely a sports car. The car has been around for getting on 15 years now, and it is now making a return with this wonderful Evangelion edition.

As with the previous versions, Mitsuoka Orochi Evangelion will only be sold in Japan. Then again, nowhere else in the world people would make sense of that odd paint job, which is reportedly inspired by the Japanese Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series.

It’s a shame we don’t get the Orochi in Europe or America. The unique design of this car would undoubtedly win it a huge fan base. As mentioned, the low and wide stance of the Mitsuoka Orochi gives it the appearance of a super car, but in fact it is a practical and efficient car powered by a 230 horsepower Toyota V6. The Orochi is probably what a Camry looks like if you consume an inordinate amount of LSD!

Apparently, in Japan you can buy a Orochi Evangelion at your local 7-Eleven for 16,000,000 Yen. Seems like a more efficient arrangement than having a dedicated showroom.
