Czech car maker Skoda released the first picture of a new hot hatch concept they have come up with based on the Fabia ahead of its official Essen Motor Show debut. The Skoda Fabia R5 looks like a proper rally car and showcases the company’s sporty side.

That is due to the car’s roots, which can be traced back to the Fabia Super2000, which was indeed a proper rally car. But the main purpose of this exercise for Skoda may have to do with the launch of a hotter Fabia RS road car in the future.
