Two prominent Japanese car makers announced their most important debuts for next year’s Detroit Motor Show (2015 NAIAS), which is less than a month away. In one corner we have the production version of the Honda/Acura NSX, and in the other a super high performance new Lexus.

There isn’t much details available on the Lexus model, apart from the company’s words that says it’s a F-designated car. It could be a hard-core, track-ready RC F. We shall soon find out.

As for the production Acura NSX that’s coming to the 2015 NAIAS, we know a fair few nuggets of information about it from the concept version. The finished product will look remarkably similar to the concept, maybe with a few subtle changes. That’s good, but even better is the powertrain which is a production application of the super-sophisticated V6-hybrid powertrain with over 600 horsepower distributed between all four wheels.

“The next-generation NSX will deliver a ‘new sports experience’ true to its heritage and to the supercar concept that originally gave rise to the name NSX,” said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager. “The NSX will serve as the ultimate expression of Acura performance that is fueling a reenergised brand.”
