Official pricing has been announced for the all-new Honda Civic Type R, following its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, for the British market where the hot hatch hits the showrooms in July. According to this info, the base Type R starts from £29,995 while the more popular GT is priced at £32,295.

The GT version of the 2016 Honda Civic Type R is worth the extra £2,300 as it comes with a number of desirable extras, including  forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition system, lane departure warning, blind spot information including cross traffic monitor, dual control climate control, rain sensing auto wipers, dusk sensing auto lights, front and rear parking sensors, interior red ambient lighting, high beam support and Honda’s new infotainment system, CONNECT, with GARMIN navigation system.

But if you can do without all those goodies and want the Type R for its potentially awesome driving experience, the base model will do just fine. You get a 310 PS and 400 Nm of torque four-cylinder turbo engine and a six-speed manual gearbox, plus a segment-first active damper system for the suspension. Yes, the car is still front-wheel-drive, but it has all sort of electronic systems to make sure that won’t get in the way of you having fun.

Performance-wise, the new Honda Civic Type R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h or 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and it has top speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).
