The current Lexus ES is a fine and handsome sedan. So if you want one go out and buy it right now because Lexus is about to ruin it! Well, that might be a bit harsh, but as you can see in the teaser picture above, the ES Facelift is getting some peculiar looking headlights.

Emboldened by the success of their bold design language in the market, Lexus is now trying to push the envelope further. What that means is, the spindle grille is getting bigger and bolder, the headlights are getting all sort of weird shapes inside them mainly thanks to the flexibility of LED units, and the lines on the rest of the body are getting more complex and unruly.

The facelift model is getting a boomerang-shaped string of LEDs which is supposed to complement the spindle grille Whether this is a recipe people will like remains to be seen, but I don’t think anyone would venture out so far as to say that 2016 Lexus ES looks magnificent. Well, at least not at the first sight.

Putting the controversial design aside for a moment, you can rest assured the rest of the 2016 Lexus ES will be absolutely brilliant. That is, if you want a comfortable, quiet, well-equipped, and high-quality family car that will work flawlessly for decades on end.
