Like many other manufacturers, Infiniti found their Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept way too awesome to remain just a collection of bits in a Playstation. So last week they created a life-size model of the Infiniti Vision GT Concept and showcased it at Infiniti Design Night in Shanghai.

The event was a proper design show and even had a theme: “Aesthetics of Contrast.” They first showcased the Q80 Inspiration and the Q60 concept to build to a crescendo for the main highlight of the event, which was of course the Infiniti Vision GT Concept in all its unusual glory. Together these three cars preview the future of Infiniti’s design.

Being a virtual concept car having to comply with no rule in particular, the Infiniti Vision GT Concept is unsurprisingly a sight to behold. Upon closer inspection you find all sort of curves and angles and twist in that glorious body, complete with carbon and chrome detailing. How much of this design can actually be transferred to production model in the future remains to be seen.

“The Q80 Inspiration, the Q60 Concept and the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo are all thematically different,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti Executive Design Director. “Yet the same thread of handcrafted artistry weaves through them, and they all speak with one Infiniti design language.”
