The RX has always been one of the most popular models Lexus made, even though in most market it was only available with a 3.5 liter V6 engine. Those who wanted something more efficient will b glad to know that the new 2016 Lexus RX will be available with a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine.

This new 2.0 liter unit is a jewel of an engine featuring VVT-iW intelligent/wide variable valve-timing, a low-inertia turbocharger and an air-to-liquid intercooler, and developing in the Lexus RX 200t an estimated 225bhp. It will mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

If you don’t care much about frugality however you can still get the 300bhp 3.5 liter V6, now with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and in case you want both power and fuel efficiency you should go for the hybrid which consists of the same V6 unit boosted with an electric motor to make the same 300bhp while being lighter on fuel.

Unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, the new Lexus RX 200t also showcased the F Sport kit available for the 2016 model, which includes sportier bumpers, a revised front grille, side skirts, rear diffuser and spoiler, darkened exterior accents, larger wheels and sport suspension.
