We have to be honest the first time we saw the new Bentley Continental GT3-R we weren’t so sure about it. We didn’t like how it looked and we also didn’t understand what it was for. Now though the good folks of Alain Class Motors have released some lives shots of a GT3-R they’ve got at the showroom, and, well, it looks pretty hot!

The reason we didn’t understand the idea of Bentley Continental GT3-R was because this lineup is already full of fast and sporty variants such as Speed and SuperSport. The world really doesn’t need another fast Continental. But you see, the GT3-R is inspired by the GT3 race car and is supposed to be the road-going version of that car. Unnecessary though it might be, there is no denying such a thing is bound to be seriously cool.

As for the looks, we really dig that racing stripe and the GT3-R lettering, again inspired by the racing car. The gloss black wheels are also pretty awesome, and so is the carbon fiber aero kit, green-accented leather interior, and the carbon fiber trim pieces with the “One of 300” treadplates. Just about the only unsightly things are those nostrils on the bonnet.

Bentley Continental GT3-R is powered by the 4.0-litre twin?turbo V8 engine, equipped with high-boost turbochargers and a new engine control software to produce 580 PS at 6,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque from 1,700 rpm.
