It’s a weird thing, but almost all comedians all around the world are huge petrolheads. Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, and of course Rowan Atkinson better known as “Mr Bean”, they all have a huge collection of exotic machines. Now, the latter, Mr Bean, is also a clever wheeler dealer as it turns out, as he’s just sold his famous purple McLaren F1 for a whopping £8 million or $12 million.

Those astronomical numbers are, of course, not that strange for the McLaren F1 these days. Good example could go for even more than that. But what makes this deal pretty amazing is the fact that Atkinson’s F1 has been involved in two fairly serious accidents in its life – accidents well-documented on the web with pictures and everything!

Rowan bought his unique F1 brand-new in 1997 for £640,000 which was a huge amount of money back then. He loved this car so much he practically used it as a daily driver. Using an F1 as a daily driver, of course, is a dangerous thing to do. And Mr Bean found that out the hard way, twice. Still, the car’s celebrity status, and the fact that it starred in one of the best Top Gear episodes of all time, were enough reasons for a British buyer to part with £8 million for it.

We are eager to know what hyper car Rowan Atkinson will acquire next. We also wish some of these comics would sit down and explain to us what is it about being funny that ignites a love for fast cars inside them.
