General Motors announced the launch of a new version of their best-selling small crossover at the Chicago Auto Show. The 2017 Chevrolet Trax comes with a host of visual upgrades as well as new features and equipment that make the vehicle more “expressive.”

Not sure what that means exactly, but the new Trax has been given a makeover on the outside with an all-new front-end featuring the same sort of grille and headlamps combo seen on the latest versions of the Cruz, Malibu, and Volt. At the rear you get new fascia and dual taillamps, with the Premier model featuring LED signature lighting and 18-inch aluminum wheels.

Also improved in the 2017 Chevrolet Trax is the interior which now boasts a new and improved instrument cluster for a more premium look and feel, plus a new 7-inch-diagonal MyLink color touch screen and Galvano chrome trim. Equipment-wise, the car gets the latest connectivity technologies, including available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and available 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot.

The new Chevy Trax launches with a 138 horsepower Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Available safety features include Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Departure Warning.
