Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration Revealed in Beijing

Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration 0 600x367 at Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration Revealed in Beijing

As promised, Infiniti took the wraps off their latest design study concept at the Beijing Motor Show 2016. Called Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration, the concept explores what a future premium mid-sized Infiniti SUV could look like. Spoiler alert: it’s still going to be full of weird lines.

But it’s a good kind of weird. Infiniti’s design language in recent years has not been exactly flawless, but it’s also never been boring. That’s also the case with the Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration which takes the conventional form of a crossover and gives it enough twists and warps that the end results looks more like a spaceship than a car for the school run.

The “daring” Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration, with its “driver-centric, passenger-minded” design, is a concept with serious production plans behind it and what’s more, it shows the way Infiniti’s design is headed in the near future. It is good to see they are going to keep surprise us with interesting looks and premium features.

Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti Executive Design Director, commented: “The QX Sport Inspiration expresses power and purpose through what we describe as its ‘proportional clarity’, with an elegance that is uniquely Infiniti. The exterior design will appeal to an artistic sensibility. It has a more flowing, natural aesthetic than that evident in traditional premium SUVs.”
