Much to the delight of their American fans Porsche announced the launch of a new luxurious edition of the Cayenne SUV. To be launched later in 2016, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition is offered for only a limited time and on two models only: the V6 Cayenne and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
These two obviously have different engines and options, but there are common features all Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition models share, and they include wide wheel arches accommodating 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels, leather eight-way electrically adjustable sport seats with Alcantara centers, logo embroidered into the headrests, stainless steel door sills with illuminated “Platinum Edition” lettering and dark tinted privacy glass.
Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition also comes with exclusive colors including Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, and Rhodium Silver, and you can order high gloss black exterior trim if you want, or have the arches finished in body color. Then there is all the equipment which begins with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and BOSE sounds system and continues with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Power Steering Plus, and front and rear ParkAssist.
Engine-wise, Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Platinum gets a 3.0 liter V6 supercharged engine and an electric motor for 416hp output and 47 mpge and costs $81,600. The V6 model boasts a 3.6 liter V6 and has a base price of $65,600.
