With each generation of the 911 Porsche makes a couple of very special, very unique editions that go down in the history books as legends. For the 997 generation these models were the GT2 RS and this, the magnificent Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0.

The idea for this car was simple: fit a 4.0 liter engine in the normally 3.8 liter RS and gives it some cool stripes. That is about all that separates this car from the regular RS. But that was enough to make hard-core Porsche fans go mad with desire for this model. Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 achieved cult status even before it left the factory and these days it is among the most sought after 997-series models – indeed any 911 model.

So it is quite a big deal that a Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 has now become available for sale, although it is so precious, the seller Hoefnagels will only reveal the price to the most serious buyers in person. The 500 horsepower super car is finished in the iconic Carrera White complete with RS 4.0 graphics and stripes and a bespoke carbon aero kit. The engine, said to be one of the best engines in the history of automobile, has 24,559 on the clock. This car is number 49 of 600 and in pristine condition:
