As usual Evo Magazine is the first to have a go in the latest greatest Porsche. This time it’s not a full road test review of the car, but rather a teaser for that. In this video they drive the new Porsche 911 R on the Autobahn and push it to within an inch of its top speed.

They manage to hit 200 mph or 321 km/h which is very close to the car’s official top speed of 323 km/h. But more impressive than the top speed itself is the way Porsche 911 R gathers speed. It’s not so much acceleration as teleportation. One second you’re here doing a 100, the next you’ve gone past 200 and find yourself in a different place.

And in case you’ve already forgotten what makes Porsche 911 R such a legend, even though it hasn’t properly hit the market yet, this other video will enlighten you:

Porsche 911 R Specs:

  • Gearbox: Manual
  • Power output: 368 kW (500 hp) at 8,250 rpm
  • Acceleration from 0 – 100 km/h: 3.8 seconds
  • Top speed: 323 km/h
  • Fuel Consumption: Combined in l/100 km 13.3 liters
  • CO2 emissions in g/km: 308
