Renault Trezor Concept Takes Paris by Storm

Renault turned up at their home motor show in Paris with a jaw-dropping new sports concept called the Trezor. This fabulous thing has electric power, and plenty of it, and looks absolutely amazing. But before you get too excited let us tell you that it is not happening. There’s no production plan for Renault Trezor.

The best the French car maker can offer us is a promise that some of the features of Renault Trezor might be used in future production models. They are probably talking about the all-electric powertrain which they have developed based on experiences from Formula E. It has an output of 260kW (350hp) and 380Nm of torque which provides the Trezor with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in under four seconds. The system features Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) regenerative braking but Renault refrains from mentioning the range.

The part of Renault Trezor we’d like to see more of in future models is the design. Renault, of course, has a history of making good looking sports car that look truly sporty – as in race car sporty. This car, too, is hunkered down and wide (it’s barely taller than one meter) and boasts large wheels and flared arches as well as wraparound windscreen and sculpted sides like a ripped athlete. The unique exterior is complemented with an equally impressive interior featuring a dashboard made from red wood that incorporates a luggage compartment at the front of the vehicle and a big touchscreen providing the latest connectivity technologies.
