New Jaguar coupe to rival Mercedes CL

Jaguar has recently unveiled the new generation of XJ saloon for 2010 and we still haven’t finished admiring it that reports surface about a possible Coupe variant! Jaguar chief designer, and man responsible for bringing the company back to life! Ian Callum, has already confirmed existence of such idea in an interview with Sky Motoring, but it’s just on the drawing board for the time being and it will take years to become reality.

But if it becomes reality, it will revival the XJC brand, will be built on the same platform as the new XJ and shares almost all of its part with the sedan, but designwise XJC ,being a luxury coupe, will be lower and wider probably with panoramic roof and huge shiny wheels. As for the cabin, the XJ’s interior seems to be brilliant enough to be used in the XJC.

The car will be a direct competitor for Mercedes CL and BMW 6-series, and can make life really hard for both of them. Because apart from the killer looks, XJC will get Jag’s new V8 engines which are capable of over 500hp. And it has a secret X-factor with it which you won’t find in the Germans, and that makes it so desirable.

We hope that Jaguar make this car and also give it a V12 unit, just like those glorious  XJCs of 1970s!
