News coming from Germany say that Porsche Panamera Turbo has just set a new lap record round the Nurburgring Nordschleife race track. Panamera with Walter Röhrl, Porsche chief test driver and rally legend, behind the wheel managed to set a time of 7min 56 seconds, which is 3 seconds faster than the current record holder, Cadillac CTS-V, and makes it the fastest four-door saloon. Problem is, it’s not official yet!
Porsche has not commented on this story yet, but based on our knowledge of Herr Röhrl driving skills, it should have been like a walk in the park for him! Specially as he had 500hp of that Turbo engine at his disposal.

Ya, but I’ve already seen the Panamera Turbo go against my Uncle’s 2009 cts-v sedan he bought brand new. From the Launch the Porsche is equally as fast as the Caddy, somewhere before or after the quarter mile…the cts-v will immediately over take the Panamera Turbo. The CTS-V sedan also has a higher top speed(+193mph) than the Porsche Panamera Turbo does(188mph) as well. I know the CTS can reach it’s top speed at 193 almost 40 seconds… 10+ seconds give or take before the Porsche will reach it’s 188 Top end. As for interiors, the Porsche has the roomier rear seating, although the technology in the Cadillac is top notch and everything in a Cadillac is standard. BTW, it’s my mom’s Panamera Turbo, and we had my brother who is a great driver racing it when the Cadillac over took us !! lol !!
