This is apparently the new Porsche 997 Turbo for 2010, and as far as I can work out it is exactly the same as the previous year’s model. It should be, you know,Porsche’s idea of facelift is not exactly the same as anyone else. the 911’s character can not be tweaked really, but because you pay extra money for the new model, it’d be be nice if they offered some difference!
As for the technicalities, the 2010 997 Turbo is going to get a 3.8 liter flat-six engine which engineers, by installing a pair of turbochargers, managed to extract 500hp. As we have seen from different tuning jobs done on the 997, its engine is always capable of much much more.
A good news with the new car is that Porsche is going to drop those stupid thumb shifters on the steering wheel for the sake of some proper paddle shifters on the steering column. Also you can have the 997 Turbo with PDK gearbox. As usual it’ll be available in both coupe and cabriolet forms.
More details to follow, stay tuned…
