Earlier this year some spyshots of a weird test mule based on the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti emerged, so it’s clear that Ferrari is working on a new Grand Tourer. Also recently on their website, a ‘Coming Soon’ box appeared with 600 GTB written under it! Although Ferrari has removed it, but it’s another proof that a new GT is in the works at Maranello.
But it’s not known for the time being whether it’ll be a replacement for the 612 Scaglietti or an evolution for the 599. That GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta) in its name suggests that it is form the Berlinetta family which means it should be a successor for 599 GTB, but based on those spyshots, a new version of the 612 makes more sense .
Also rumor has it that Ferrari is developing a new version of their V12 engine for the upcoming GT, which focuses on reducing fuel consumption and co2 emissions, without any compromise in performance. It is very likely that Ferrari switch to hybrid powerplants soon.
