Today McLaren also revealed its new supercar, which is the start of a new era for the British company as they are starting out to expand their business worldwide. What we used to know as the P11 is officially named as the MP4-12C and according to the company it will re-write the rules of a sportscar with its Formula-1 aspired technologies.
The MP4-12C is supposed to go head to head against Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Gallardo and although it might not look as stunning as them, it has got enough power to cause both of them lots of troubles! The car’s 3.8 liter race-bred V8 produces 600hp and 600 nm of torque, besides McLaren has used carbon fiber extensively in this car do it’s light and agile and after all it’s a McLaren so it handles like a dream!
McLaren also promises that the MP4 will also be quit efficient for a car of this level of performance. The mid-engined supercar will go on sale next year as a 2011 model and you can expect a price tag of around a quarter of a million dollar.
