The demand for small and efficient city cars is pretty high in Britain so manufacturers try to get a bigger share of this market by constantly refreshing their lineup and offering greater value to the customers. Now Toyota introduces a new special edition of its Aygo mini car which has been around for a few years, as the top of the line model. It’s called the Aygo Platinum and features some extras such as 14-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, Crystal Silver metallic paint, six-speaker audio system, Alcantara and leather upholstery and leather gear knob trim.
Aygo Platinum is available in three or five door models and is powered by the same 1.0-litre VVT-I petrol engine with Toyota Optimal Drive, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with the option of Toyota’s Multimode system. The Aygo Xtra Protected pack is available as an option for Aygo Platinum, priced £380, it adds rear parking sensors and additional side and rear protection mouldings to help guard against the rough and tumble of urban driving. Vehicle Stability Control can also be specified as an option, at £340.
